It was a hot mid July day, reaching a high of 104 degrees ,and I wanted nothing more than to play a game of volleyball with my best friend Audrey! We were home alone, so easily Audrey and I thought we could beat the heat. The heat was so unbearable that we decided to play volleyball in my living room, which was absolutely forbidden at the Mckinney household! Since my mother was not home, I decided why not? I mean my mother would never find out, right?
Audrey and I decided to pass the ball. Being the professional volleyball players we were, of course we weren’t going to break anything. One of us must have forgotten to knock on wood before we started this intense game of volleyball, before we could yell ,”mine” to claim a pass, much less do anything about it, my mother’s favorite vase was shattered into a million pieces. The guilt started to set in, and I knew we had to do something to fix it! I could only think of all the trouble I would be in, as soon as my mother stormed in the front door. The mission for a bottle of super glue then began, what a rare and precious item to find. The bottle of supper glue was very vital for any fun plans I had this week! I couldn’t imagine the sullen look on my Mother’s face, when she finds her beautiful vase in a million pieces! I had less than an hour to fix this! I wasn’t going to let my mother down, not today!
Audrey and I rushed to mend the vase as much as we could! As I was wiping the sweat from my brow in the final seconds of my mad dash to fix my Mother’s beloved vase, I heard the creaking of my front door. Before the door was completely open, Audrey passed me the last piece of the broken vase! In marched my Mother, we quickly hid the glue, to hide our evidence. We hid the glue, and sat down on the couch. The couch had never felt so cozy, then in that moment, but I was still hanging on the edge of my seat. The guilt made me anxious when it came time to pass the ,” Mom house inspection!”
My mother lurked around the house, like she always does. In that moment the worst possible thing could’ve happened. My Mother saw the vase, and if looks could kill this would come pretty close! Needless to say, I think my best friend and I realized that we should have just been honest about breaking the vase. After all ,honesty is the best policy!

The Experience of a Life Time
“New York is always a good idea,” said Audrey Hepburn.Indeed it is , New York captures alone captures the essences of culture and has in store the best experience you can imagine.
One thing I love about New York is all the different cultures living in one city. Perhaps if we went on a field trip to New York my classmates and I would be able to catch a glimpse of of the wonderful culture of New York City. Manhattan alone is home to Chinatown, Little Italy , and so much more . In my opinion it is good to see most of the cultures . You never know you might pack up and move to a new place, and you would like to be able to know a little of where you are going.
New York is quite an experience ; you might even call it one of a kind . In fact of 8,564 who saw the Manhattan sky line 7,103 said it was excellent. Also New York is so far away it is just the experience riding over there. But be careful because the real fun starts when you get to new york. I mean it’s New York, the Big Apple , City of Dreams who wouldn’t want to go.
“I love you New York,” said Audrey Hepburn. And i’m almost certain that i will too, because of all the fun we will have getting a glimpse of culture. Just the experience would be good enough for me!
The Supporter of Me
“Throughout my life my mom has always been the person I’ve looked up to “ – Josh Leaghham . I admire my mom because she is a caring person and a spiritual guide in my life.
I love my mom more and more everyday because she is caring towards me and everyone around her . Everyday she takes care of me by supporting me no matter what and standing by my side. One day my mom and I went to town to buy my sister a birthday present, and found this huge birthday card so we got it and filled it with pictures ,like a scrapbook .
My mom has always been there for me not only as a mom but a spiritual guide. For example she always takes me to church every Sunday and Wednesday night .And tries to pray 752 with me. Which is when you pray 7 times a week by your self, 5 time with your family ,and 2 times with a commitment partner.
I feel that my mom will always be the person i look up to .Because she is caring and a spiritual guide in my life.
A Day Never to be Forgotten
I was trembling with excitement when my name popped up on the screen in bold print. “Meet Maddie McKinney”, the screen projected “8-24-14”. It was going to be a day never to be forgotten.
It all started with my friend Merdith being baptized . At our church , they play a video to introduce people. Merdiths video was unbelievable marvelous . She is a big inspiration to me.
Now it was time for me to be baptized. I got out of my seat and stood right beside my pasture , and the video began. “Meet Maddie Mckinney ” the screen projected “8-24-14″. Some parts were very embarrassing, but some were just priceless!
After that David said ” do you Maddie take Jesus Christ to be your very own lord and savior”, “I do”, I said with a fast response. “well upon that profession of faith I now pronounce you as my sister in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
Now I know absolutely this was going to be a day never to be forgotten . I will always keep in my heart ” I can do all things through Christ whom give me strength,” Philippians 4:13.

Forward and Back
The three things that I would like to remember the most about 2013 . First I went to church camp and that’s were I grew my relationship with god a also I met some of my best friends there. I went with White Oak Community Church. We went to piney woods camp and it was really fun they had a pool well it was more of a water park than a pool, they also had a lake you could go canoeing in, and a place you could play doge ball and human fuse ball the also hand a place were you could play tug-of-war in the mud,slip-n-slide, play a game were you get a wet sponge and put it over one person and under the next and so on then the first person goes to the back of the line and brings the sponge (with little water still left in it) to the bucket and the first team to fill their bucket up won . But to be honest it really changed my life.
My second thing is when I moved to White Oak to go to school. I started to move the Christmas break before when my sister did but it was so sudden I wanted to start when we went back to school. So come to when it was time to come back to school i was really nervous because I only know the people that I went to church camp and the people that didn’t go to church camp with that go to church. When i went to the first day of school I was practically terrified. I was nervous that I wouldn’t know any of the people in my class and I was going to be lonely for the rest of the school and actually one of my friends from church camp and she helped me with the teachers and were every thing is and she helped me learn everybody’s name. So after like a month I had a lot of friends and I was having a lot of fun. I really love going to school in White Oak.
Last but not least I went to Colorado to snow ski. It was really fun ,but the first day on the first trail we lost my cosine turns out when I fell and my dad came down to help me when she went on the wrong trail and, she started to freak OUT and then like a personal trainer found her and helped her get to the bottom to find us, and the second tine we went up(with my cosine this time) I almost got a concussion because I was still a little rusty (because I hadn’t been sense I was six ) and I fell tumbled down a hill, lost my skies, poles almost fell of the cliff , and then landed on a big patch of ice . But other than all the chose I got to spent my christmas break with my family and friends and in the frizzing cold. When we got dun skiing we would some times swim or get in the hot tub and at the end of the day we would all get to gather and eat dinner. On our way up there my cosine hadn’t flown in like 7 years so she was really nervous about it. She was so nervous that she past out for like 4 seconds it wasn’t that long but it was scary and when we landed she screamed when the plain touched the ground. Don’t even get me started on when we were coming home she almost peed in her pants because she was scared that the plain was going to crash and she was going to die del really she had a fear of that the whole time we were flying . But we really had fun because we got to spend the whole time with our family like to go eat,to swim , to go shopping , and a lot of other fun stuff .
But there is also a lot of things that I want to do in 2014 like for example I want to read the whole series of the Nicholas Sparks books. I want to learn how to write my name in chinese . I also want to stop watching as much T.V. as I use to. A the most important part is that 2014 is going to ROCK!

Should every kid get a trophy?
I think it is a trophy overload! Kids should have something to be motivated by. If this on kid shows up to every practice and got a trophy, and the other kid cant come because he is sick or something, and not get a trophy. I also think it would send the wrong message . Well i guess my point is that kids wont try as hard or have as much fun and that’s what sports are all about. The MLB players didn’t get a trophy after every practice. That’s why i think every kid shouldn’t get a trophy.
